We were introduced to photographer Amelia Machia by longtime Heady Vermont ally, cannabis advocate supreme, and kickass photographer in his own right Fran Janik. He suggested she’d be a great volunteer for our July 1 Legalization Celebration – and so she’ll be (in fact we still need volunteers, so email [email protected] if you’d like to join us).
But when she also offered to take photos of the event and sent along some samples of her deliciously smoky portraits, we realized that no further steps could be taken until we did an artist profile. And so, for your dining and dancing pleasure, please welcome Amelia Machia…
HVT: What is your personal background?
AM: I’m a 22 year old fine art photographer from Eden, Vermont. I trained at the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts and currently run my own studio in Morrisville.
HVT: What’s the source of your artistic inspiration?
AM: All sorts of things inspire me: classic movies and literature, Vermont’s gorgeous landscape, and the work of master photographers from previous generations.
