Massachusetts has the potential to become one of the largest cannabis markets in the country. The population of Massachusetts is roughly 6.86 people, but adult-use cannabis companies in the state will not just be serving Massachusetts customers, at least not at first.
When adult-use sales begin in Massachusetts this summer it will be the only state allowing adult-use cannabis sales on the entire East Coast. As such, the market potential is going to be insane.
Reform efforts are picking up steam in the entire Northeastern part of the country, with Maine and Vermont having also legalized cannabis, although Maine does not currently allow sales and when Vermont’s law takes effect in July it will also not allow sales. But that will change over time, as will industry-related public policies in other states in the area.
Things are evolving in the Northeastern part of the United States, and in the not-so-distant future, it’s likely that states like New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and other states will all allow adult-use cannabis sales. The opportunities are going to be abundant, but only those that start
