Two Charlotte residents say their dogs were sickened last week after off-leash walks at Mount Philo State Park.
It is not clear what caused the dogs to become sick, but one dog’s owner said the dog’s urine tested positive for THC.
Holly Palmer brought her dog, Maisie, for a regular walk with friends on April 2. As soon as Palmer arrived home, she noticed that Maisie seemed sleepy and was having difficulty standing up. The dog vomited and seemed to improve later in the day without treatment.
Palmer, who initially suspected a new flea and tick collar might be to blame, found out the following morning that her friends’ two dogs had experienced similar symptoms immediately after the walk.
