view slideshow (2 images) PREV NEXT DOVER- A group of entrepreneurs hoping to open a medical marijuana growing facility and dispensary in Dover met with local residents Monday evening to discuss their proposal.
Local residents Kathleen “Kat” Matos and Stephanie Zumbruski Pardy, who recently presented their plan to the Dover Selectboard, were accompanied by Scot Mackie , a Dover second-home owner who indicated he would provide the financial backing for the project if it is eventually approved.
Mackie said the group plans to apply for one of the next medical marijuana licenses when it becomes available from the state. “It’s a competitive process, and we’re working hard to understand the rulebook, working hard to make sure we’re researched and organized.”
Mackie said he recently attended a medical marijuana conference at Yale that also attracted venture capitalists, attorneys, government officials, doctors, and medical researchers. He explained that most medical marijuana
